Iran, Australia discuss cooperation on renewable energies
In the meeting on Sunday evening, Daemi said, “Iran is keen to work with Australian companies on climate change, renewable energies, desalination of seawater and finance.”
There is good potential for cooperation between the two countries’ academic and research centers on water and energy, he noted.
The official said that Iran’s Sharif University of Technology and The University of Melbourne are now working together on the issue of water.
Hamilton-Smith for his part said that the current 1.5 million-dollar trade exchange between Iran and Australia is not satisfactory regarding the two countries’ potential.
He voiced hope for promotion of Iran and Australia research and academic cooperation in the water management, energy, desalination and renewable energies areas during the post-Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action era.
